Post 50

Last post. This blog has been a fun way to get creative ideas out there that would otherwise never be published. From posting photos and videos to my progress on the guitar I bought in the beginning of the semester, it has been fun to see a timeline of ideas.

Working on my final project as well as these posts tonight, feels weird thinking about my legacy while only being 21

Another sunny day on campus, great to see the Christmas tree up again

My awful rendition of a great song

Post 46

With Christmas coming up next month, it's going to be weird not getting to be with family. I always liked seeing my grandparents and hearing their old stories, even if they repeat some without knowing it.

Post 45

This year for Christmas I want to think a little outside the box with a gift for my mom so instead of going out and buying her something from a store I want to get her a framed photo or something more personal like that.

Post 44

 Some chords I've been learning

Post 43

Over the past few years I've gotten into watches and it's partially because of the creativity that goes into some of them. Despite it being an industry that is 100s of years old there is still innovation in both design and functionality.

Post 42

I think for Christmas this year I want to ask my mom for a new camera. I think it'll motivate me to go out and take more photos than I would with my current camera that I've had for a long time.

My photos I framed came in, cool to see my own creation up on the wall

Post 40

First thing i learned to play when I bought my guitar back in October. Only 2 strings so pretty easy.

Post 38

Driving home and seeing the Richards Group building a couple blocks away from my apartment motivates me to get these blog posts finished, its a shame what happened to their agency, could have been easily avoided.

Post 37

One of my friends who is a photographer in is paying me to help him with a shoot over break so I guess creativity does pay off

A picture from the house at my family's ranch. It's a great place to get away from regular life because theres no wifi and only enough cell service for texts, calls, and maybe snapchat.

Post 33

Learning guitar past couple months,  I have shifted the music I'm listening to to inspire me to play more. I used to listen to a lot of rap and pop music, but I've been listening to more country and rock lately and it has definitely inspired me. If I'm listening to something in the car with a prominent guitar part, the first thing I want to do when I get home is sit down and play.

Post 32

List of artists I've been listening to lately: 1. Arctic Monkeys 2. Luke Combs 3. Turnpike Troubadours 4. Red Hot Chili Peppers

Post 31

Music usually inspires me in different ways. If I need to get some work done, I might put on something more relaxing, but if I'm working out I might put on something more fast paced to help keep me going.

Heres another video I took in Houston:

Video is another hobby of mine. Here is a cool video I took using a drone I bought last year:

post 28

This year, even though Thanksgiving itself is going to look different, I'm thankful that i'm still able to go to school and finish my education, even if my senior year is looking a little different than my first 3 years at SMU.

post 27

With thanksgiving coming up, my whole family usually gets together for a day of celebration and a big thanksgiving dinner, but thats not the best idea because people live around the country. Our creative solution this year is to get everyone on a zoom call at some point during the day so we can still kind of be together.

post 26

List of photographers that have inspired my style: 1. Ansel Adams 2. Jimmy Chin 3. David Noton

Post 25

Halfway through my blog posts, it has been cool to have a place for collecting creative ideas for the future, as well as recording past creativity.

post 24

To go along with the last post I think I want to crate an online portfolio of some of my photo and video work, even if nobody ever sees it it will be a cool way to display some of my work.

Post 23

One form of creativity I have recently become interested in is web design. I am starting a free online course and I hope it will help me in the future, and even if not it will be a cool skill to have.

post 22

I have always had a problem getting creative ideas for school assignments or personal projects but the brainstorming and mind mapping exercises we did earlier in the semester have helped me with many assignments in other classes.

Post 21

Not as creative as some of my other posts but I wanted to make my resume look better before I send it out to potential employers so I went in and changed around the fonts and font sizes and formatting to make it look better so it hopefully stands out when I'm trying to get a job for next fall.

Post 20

Normally I wouldn't consider myself very creative in the kitchen but Iv've been getting bored of cooking the same stuff decided to look up some more complicated recipes to try out

Post 19

Practiced with my team today for our presentation. I'm not an advertising major but it was really interesting doing research for this project and seeing what information my team found about our agency.

post 18

Worked with my group on our Virtue/Vice presentation today. It was interesting to see how our firm operates and how they are similar and different from others.

post 17

I recently ordered a couple framed prints of photos I've taken to put up in my apartment, hopefully they turn out well. Will be cool to have something I created up on the walls. Hopefully they come in by the blog due date so I can post a picture.

post 16

Helped one of my friends who is photographer with with a photoshoot today. It was cool to learn some more advanced techniques. Since I only do photography as a hobby I was interested to learn some things from my friend who is more knowledgable than I am.

post 15

I've just finished my resume and am about to start applying to jobs for summer/fall 2021. While I was previously thinking of getting a job in finance because of my economics major, I now think something in marketing might be more interesting, as I could use my business knowledge but also have more creative freedoms.

post 14

Creative project of the day:  started brainstorming ideas for my final project. The obvious idea would be to do some sort of writing piece but I am trying to think of an idea using visual media that would make sense to go along with my mission statement.

Post 12

Another guitar progress update. Learning how to play a few different songs that use fairly easy chords. Progress has been slow since school has been busy this semester and I'm also trying to find a job for next fall but I'm enjoying learning to play some songs on the weekends and whenever I find some time during the week.

Here's another photo from the summer to go along with the last one. I took a bunch around Houston since I was at home for the whole summer except for 2 weeks.

I started trying out some stuff with Lightroom on some of my old photos from home since covid was preventing me from going anywhere cool this summer. I have been into photography for a while but i never really got around to learning editing software until now. I'll attach one to this post, hopefully it shows up.
